Job summary

McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern in Hillsboro, OR is hiring a Kitchen Assistant Manager (KAAM) to support the Chef/Manager in daily kitchen operations. The KAAM will open and close the kitchen, supervise a team, and ensure smooth shift execution with a focus on high-quality service.

This role requires strong people skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. The KAAM will also engage customers, oversee labor and food costs, and collaborate with management to maintain efficiency.

Qualifications

• Obtain and maintain a current food handler card.
• Previous high-volume cooking experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Enjoy working in a busy customer service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all kitchen operations under the guidance of the Chef/Manager.
• Perform opening and closing duties of the kitchen and act as host during shifts.
• Oversee smooth running of the shift and manage labor and food costs.
• Training staff and delegating side work, with attention to customer satisfaction.
• Report issues to the head manager and district manager; multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
