Job summary

Phoenix House of New York | Long Island is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the cook in providing three meals per day for all patients and to assist with prep work in the kitchen. This full-time position operates during the evening shift and requires a High School diploma or GED, with prior restaurant experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receives deliveries and stores food in refrigerators and freezers.
• Rotates stock to maintain freshness.
• Cleans prep areas and disposes of waste.
• Assists campus cooks with ingredient prep.
• Prepares ingredients for entrees and meals.
• Chops vegetables and portions meats.
• Complies with diets and special handling requirements.
• Cleans the kitchen and equipment after shifts.
