Job summary

Social Clubhouse, Inc. seeks a reliable Kitchen Assistant & Cook to work alongside our full-time cook in Springfield, NJ. You will plan, prepare, and serve meals for adults in a mental health program, while mentoring clients in basic kitchen skills.

The role offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no evenings or weekends, and can transition from part-time/temp-to-hire to full-time with benefits as the program expands.

Qualifications

• Large-scale cooking experience for groups in commercial settings.
• Current ServSafe or NJ Food Handler certification required or immediate hire training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for light shopping.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for shifts.
• Collaborative team member in a two-person kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative high-volume cooking for breakfast and lunch for large groups.
• Weekly menu planning, inventory management, and food purchasing.
• Daily kitchen maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation, and proper storage.
• Follow CACFP guidelines to ensure compliant meal service.
• Co-supervise and mentor clients in culinary training.
