Job summary

The Kitchen Assistant role at Bupa UK’s Broomcroft House Care Home in Sheffield is a part-time position with a salary of £12.75-£13.75 per hour, dependent on experience. The role supports the main kitchen, helps plate meals, and ensures tidy prep areas while contributing to a warm, home-like dining experience for residents.

You will assist with stock rotation, follow COSHH/HACPP guidelines, and help cater for events, joining a passionate team committed to high standards and resident comfort.

Qualifications

• A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Ability to deliver an excellent service and maintain high standards around residents.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and keep prep areas clean and tidy.
• Monitor stock rotation and comply with company policies and procedures (COSHH and HACPP).
• Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
