Job summary

KPOT is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher in Grand Rapids to keep the restaurant running smoothly in our fast-paced All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ and Hot Pot concept. You will support food preparation, ensure ingredients are fresh, maintain a clean, organized kitchen, and coordinate with front-of-house staff to deliver timely service.

No prior kitchen experience is required, but reliability, teamwork, and a positive hospitality attitude are essential to help KPOT deliver great guest

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Clear communication and a passion for food.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation.
• Comfortable working around grills and hot cooking surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to KPOT's standards.
• Assist in food preparation and ensure ingredients are fresh and ready for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate timely service.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
• Manage time to ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and all dishes are ready for use.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with the front-of-house and management regarding allergy orders.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times.
• Be a team player, assisting other team members whenever needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
