The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a part-time job opening for a Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant for the Center of Hope, Greater Birmingham Command, located in Birmingham, AL.
Responsibilities include cleaning kitchen equipment, washing dishes such as buffet line pans and large pots, sweeping, mopping, and waxing kitchen and dining floors. The role also involves assisting in serving buffet line meals, ensuring appropriate portions, stocking bulk foods, beverages, and supplies in an organized and safe manner, and emptying large kitchen/dining hall trash cans.
Work is performed in a typical commercial kitchen and cafeteria environment, which may involve exposure to hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers. Duties require frequent walking, standing, kneeling, or squatting, with some heavy lifting, and are occasionally relieved by periods of sitting.
