Job description

Description

The Assistant Site Leader at our Indiana Overnight Property must have a strong faith and commitment to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. They are responsible for cultivating team development, team culture and community in the kitchen among staff and volunteers. They also lead and execute food preparation, meal service, and cleaning of the facility with excellence. The Kitchen Specialist will ensure a fun, exciting, hospitable experience for guests, staff and volunteers that reflect the character of Jesus Christ.

Key Job Functions

  • Facilitate spiritual development of student volunteers and guest group volunteers helping them grow in their faith.
  • Lead daily devotions with staff, 2-week TST, and volunteers.
  • Attend leadership Bible study.
  • Follow the schedule set by the Food Service Manager.
  • Lead and execute meal prep and meal service according to dietary needs and allergen-sensitive accommodations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean kitchen and dining hall.

Secondary Job Functions

  • Participate in a variety of guest group specific tasks and responsibilities to facilitate the SpringHill Experience for guest groups during the summer.
  • Participate in a variety of tasks and responsibilities to facilitate the SpringHill Experience for family groups during the summer.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Must be ServSafe certified within 3 weeks of starting position (paid for by SpringHill)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Live in provided housing on camp property
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and twist
  • Ability to push and pull loads
  • Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
