Job summary

Chelsea Retirement Community is seeking a Kitchen and Hospitality Aide for the morning shift in Chelsea, MI. This part-time role (29 hrs/week) involves household cooking, kitchen assistance, and delivering friendly dining experiences to residents.

Typical shifts run 6am-2:30pm or 6:30am-10:30am with alternating weekend hours. Benefits include tuition assistance, daily pay, and a generous PTO program.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Experience as a server in a restaurant, nursing home, or retirement community serving older adults is preferred.
• Certification in Food Handling is desired.

Responsibilities

Schedule: Part-Time - 29 hrs/week | Varies Monday-Friday, Alternating Weekend Hours | 6am-2:30pm and/or 6:30am-10:30am

Shift Premiums: Beginning 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $ 1.00 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $ 1.00

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll handle a variety of dining services, including household cooking, kitchen assistance, and related activities, all while fostering a warm, welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create an enjoyable dining experience, serving residents and their guests.
• Assists with serving resident meals, snacks, and nourishments.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, dining, and service area.
• Prepare food for household meals and snacks that are healthy and appetizing.
• Plans and facilitates activities for residents involve food preparation or other activities specific to the kitchen.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Experience as a server in a restaurant, nursing home, or retirement community serving older adults, preferred.
• Certification in Food Handling, desired.
• Experience in commercial food preparation and services, desired.
• Certification in Dining Assistant or CNA, desired.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds.
