Job summary

Catholic Charities Inc. is seeking a Kinship Navigator to work directly with kinship caregivers, helping them access resources and receive emotional support as they care for relative children.

You will assess needs, make referrals, coordinate services across health, housing, and social programs, and act as a liaison among families, the Department, and community resources. The role requires strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to travel within the district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field and two years of experience with families.
• Experience linking families to health, legal, housing, counseling, and child care services.
• Ability to educate and advocate for kinship families.
• Strong empathy and understanding of kinship caregivers’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to kinship families navigating the child welfare system.
• Identify needs and make appropriate referrals.
• Maintain regular contact with kinship families in offices, homes, or in the community.
• Assist in determining eligibility and completing service forms.
• Connect families to community resources and recreational activities.
• Protect privacy in compliance with HIPAA.
• Collaborate with biological families, the Department, and other agencies.
• Document services and statistics as required.
