You will work with the navigator to address obstacles, navigate systems, and connect families with resources and services. This role emphasizes advocacy, education, and community engagement, with travel within the region and remote meeting participation as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Peer Support Specialist Certification required or must obtain within 120 days of hire.
• Ability to educate and advocate for kinship families; strong empathy.
• Ability to travel within assigned region; experience with diverse family dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Provide follow up calls and communications to ensure caregivers' needs are addressed.
• Assist Kinship Navigator in identifying caregivers' specific needs.
• Support kinship families in navigating child welfare systems and accessing resources.
• Help families obtain resources (medical, educational, legal) and participate in community events.
• Build social engagement skills to aid employment and participation in groups.
• Assist with intake processes and complete forms for program admissions.
• Advocate to protect caregiver rights in daily living services and housing contexts.
• Gather program documents (proof of custody, etc.) and verify eligibility.
• Maintain regular contact with kinship families in multiple settings.
