$46,041.00/yr - $84,913.00/yr

Summary

Westdale Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Kindergarten Teacher. This full-time position offers the opportunity to nurture young minds and foster a love of learning in a supportive and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where students can thrive.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with state standards and promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  2. Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a sense of belonging.
  3. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  4. Assess and monitor student progress through observations, assessments, and individualized feedback.
  5. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
  6. Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and administration to enhance the overall educational experience.
  7. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  8. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
  9. Implement classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and conflict resolution among students.
  10. Engage in school events and activities to foster community involvement and support student learning.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
  2. Valid Michigan teaching certification for Lower Elementary education.
  3. Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
  4. Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
  6. Ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  8. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
  9. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse classroom environment.
  10. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
