Position Details

• FLSA Status: Exempt
• Pay Grade: Teacher Pay Scale
• Job Type: Full-Time
• Work Hours: Normal work hours (193 days)

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to foster their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
2. Create a conducive classroom environment suitable for the students' maturity and interests.
3. Prepare and organize lessons with accommodations for individual differences.
4. Maintain accurate records, and prepare for classes as per supervisor’s requests.
5. Encourage positive classroom behavior and manage classroom order fairly.
6. Assess student progress regularly and report on their development.
7. Refer students for evaluations by district specialists when needed.
8. Follow all policies and rules related to student conduct and safety.
9. Develop and enforce classroom rules, and be available for students and parents as needed.
10. Supervise and evaluate teacher aides and volunteers.
11. Participate in professional development and staff meetings.
12. Establish effective communication with students, parents, and community members.
13. Complete lesson plans and grade entries timely in the school’s platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards.
• Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for the level and subject area (required for ESL/Bilingual, SPED, Pre-K; preferred for others).

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
