Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is hiring Early Education teachers who will ensure students master essential academic and social skills while embracing IDEA values. Teachers set ambitious goals, deliver rigorous instruction, assess progress, and engage families to drive student success in a K-3 context.

Roles include implementing standards, planning ahead, tracking progress, and contributing to a positive school culture with after-hours tutoring or Saturday school as needed.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred)
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
• Licenses or Certifications: TEA Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual/ESL certifications encouraged

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust plans accordingly
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in weekly check-ins and school events
