Qualifications

• Connecticut State Department of Education Elementary Certification (013) is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field is required; a Master's is preferred.
• Experience in urban and diverse school settings is preferred; bilingual candidates are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-based instruction in literacy, math, science, and social studies.
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom culture.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners including English learners and students with IEPs/504s.
• Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and track progress.
• Establish routines and expectations to maintain a safe, orderly classroom.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to plan instruction.
• Communicate regularly with families on student progress and activities.
• Participate in school-based teams, PD, and data-driven planning sessions.
• Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Support students' social-emotional development with positive behavior strategies.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports.
