Job summary

Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Solomons, MD is hiring a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time role reports to the Principal with a salary range of $44,000 to $47,000 plus benefits.

The teacher will plan lessons aligned with Archdiocese of Washington Academic and Religious Standards, foster Catholic identity, communicate with families, and participate in professional development and non-instructional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and teaching certification in MD/VA/DC within three years.
• Solid knowledge of child development and supervision.
• Experience teaching in an elementary setting preferred.
• Willingness to obtain required religious certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons aligned with Archdiocese of Washington Standards.
• Deliver a comprehensive program including instruction, discussion and activities.
• Maintain a positive, respectful learning environment.
• Communicate with parents via email, notes home, and conferences.
• Foster Catholic identity and lead religion instruction if applicable.
• Perform non-instructional duties and participate in professional development.
