Job summary

Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle in Lanham, Maryland, is seeking a full-time PreK-4 Teacher for the 2026-27 school year, reporting to the Principal. Salary range is $42,000 to $48,000 and includes excellent benefits.

The successful candidate will plan lessons aligned with Archdiocese standards, deliver a balanced instruction program, and foster a Catholic learning environment. Certification in MD/VA/DC is required within three years of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and teacher certification in MD, VA, or DC.
• Knowledge of child development and supervision.
• Experience teaching in an elementary school setting preferred.
• Must obtain MD, VA, or DC certification within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans aligned with Archdiocese standards.
• Deliver a balanced program of instruction with direct, guided, and hands-on activities.
• Assess and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
• Establish classroom procedures and foster a respectful, Catholic learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and participate in meetings and liturgical activities.
