Job summary

The Louisa-Muscatine Community School District is seeking a Long-Term Kindergarten Substitute Teacher for our Elementary School, with an assignment starting mid-October and ending in late January 2027. The schedule runs 7:45am–3:45pm (Mon-Thu) and 7:45am–2:45pm on Fridays, with Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year holidays observed.

Applicants must hold an Iowa teaching license (initial/standard/master or substitute).

Qualifications

• Iowa initial, standard, master or substitute teaching license is required.
• Valid Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter (2hr) certificate is required or we can assist in obtaining it.
• Seizure First Aid training (30 minutes) is required or training can be arranged by the district.

Responsibilities

• Teach kindergarten as a long-term substitute for the elementary school.
• Follow district curriculum and ensure alignment with grade-level standards.
• Maintain student safety and manage classroom behavior during the assignment.
