Job summary

HORRY COUNTY SCHOOLS is seeking a Kindergarten Aide to assist the Kindergarten Teacher and Principal in a well-organized classroom environment. The role focuses on supporting instruction and utilizing available resources to help students benefit from the instructional program.

The ideal candidate will have paraprofessional credentials, be capable of working in a team setting, and participate in ongoing in-service training provided by the district and state education authorities.

Qualifications

• Must meet requirements for a paraprofessional (minimum 60 college credit hours or an Associate’s Degree or Paraprofessional certificate or passed the 4 areas of WorkKeys).
• Demonstrate aptitude for working with young children and ability to communicate effectively.
• Alternatives to listed qualifications may be considered by Administration and/or Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Kindergarten Teacher with preparation for classroom activities.
• Provide individual and small group instruction to meet individual needs of children.
• Maintain an organized, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Assist with non-instructional classroom duties (snack, recess, lunch, clothing, bathroom).
• Maintain records as required by the school district or State Department of Education.
