Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking a paraeducator to support three- and four-year-old students not in special education at Glacier Valley Elementary. You will present activities to build foundational skills in reading, writing, math, and computers, and work with children individually or in small groups.

The role requires documentation of students' progress and behavior, strong communication with staff and families, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Experience in professional childcare or early-learning setting.
• CPR, first aid and district approved behavioral management techniques may be required.
• Must have either an AA degree, or 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass the WorkKeys Exam.

Responsibilities

• Work with three and four-year-old students not in special education.
• Present material and activities to improve reading, writing, math, computers, and vocational education.
• Record grades and progress; monitor behavior.
• Work individually or in small groups; communicate with staff, students and parents.
