Juneau School District is seeking a Support Staff/Special Education Paraeducator at Thunder Mountain Middle School. This .9333 FTE position serves students in BEST, DEC-C, DEC, and Transitions programs, delivering instructional support in reading, writing, math, computers and vocational activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Prior experience with school-age children preferred.
• CPR, first aid and district-approved behavior management may be required.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license required.
• Must have either an AA degree, or 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass the WorkKeys exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in BEST/DEC programs with reading, writing, math, computers or vocational education.
• Work individually or in small groups and record grades/data for progress or behavior.
