Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a motivated Taylor Forklift Driver to join our Kilns Team in Talladega, AL. The role involves stacking and loading lumber into kilns while ensuring production levels are met and safety procedures are followed.

This is a full-time, onsite position on a 12-hour rotating shift (5:30 – 5:30) with overtime, holidays, and weekend work as needed. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour based on experience, with potential increases tied to skills and overall performance.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months experience driving/operating forklift, backhoe, front end loaders and/or skid steer type equipment in manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
• 1 year manufacturing experience with 6+ months sawmill experience using heavy equipment.
• Prior experience driving/operator Taylor Forklift.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines and participate in safety program.
• React appropriately to critical alarms and follow fire/high temp/CO alarm procedures.
• Stack lumber neat and organized on every occasion.
• Perform basic forklift maintenance and housekeeping.
• Keep work area neat and organized; maintain housekeeping each shift.
• Use MOE system to enter work orders for forklift or kiln needs.
• Adjust starting/stopping times to fit production needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or coordinator.
