Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Taylor Forklift Operator to join our Kilns Team in Talladega, AL. The role involves stacking and loading lumber into the Kilns while ensuring production targets are met, on a 12-hour rotating shift (5:30 - 5:30).

Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required based on production needs. The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment and can operate heavy equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months forklift operation experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Willingness to work any shift including overtime, holidays, and weekends as production needs dictate.
  • Prior sawmill or heavy equipment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety, environmental guidelines and participate in the safety program.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms and follow fire/high temperature/CO alarm procedures.
  • Stack lumber neatly and maintain organized work areas.
  • Perform basic forklift maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Enter work orders in MOE system for forklift or kiln needs.
  • Adjust starting/stopping times to fit production needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or coordinator.

Taylor Forklift Operator

Location: Onsite in Talladega, AL

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a contribution motivated Taylor Forklift Driver to join our Kilns Team. The role is responsible for stacking and loading lumber into the Kilns while ensuring production levels are being met.

Salary
  • * Starting pay is at: $20.00/hour, based on experience.
  • * You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.
What You Will Do
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
  • Know how to react appropriately in the event of a critical alarm. Know all fire, high temperature, and CO alarm procedures.
  • Stack lumber neat and well organized on every occasion.
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping on forklift.
  • Ensure work area is neat and organized. Housekeeping must be maintained each shift.
  • Use MOE system to enter work orders for forklift or kiln needs.
  • Change starting/stopping times that fits production needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or coordinator.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • * A minimum of 6 months experience driving/operating forklift, backhoe, front end loaders and/or skid steer type equipment in manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
  • * Minimum 1 year experience within a Manufacturing environment with 6+ months Sawmill experience using heavy equipment.Prior experience driving/operator Taylor Forklift.
  • * Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other PC-based production reporting systems applications.
