Job summary

PINE HALL BRICK COMPANY INC in Alabama is seeking a Kiln Fireman to join our production team. The role requires safe operation of kiln equipment, ability to learn other tasks, and reliable communication with supervision on production, quality and safety issues.

You will enter quality data on the computer, generate reports, monitor process variables, and maintain a clean, safe work area. The job includes lifting up to 50 lbs, periodic twisting and bending, and working every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Operate and reset transfer cars and haulages.
• Keep track of car positions.
• Use hand tools for minor repairs and adjustments.

Description

The Kiln Fireman will communicate with other employees in different departments, Burning Department, Setting Department and Dehacking Department. The Fireman will have the ability to use the computer to enter quality data, make changes to process, generate reports and monitors process variables. Also will obtain strong knowledge of drying and firing equipment and operations.

Requirements

• Maintain safe and clean work area to avoid personal injury and/or property damage.
• Use proper safety equipment and procedures.
• Ability to learn other jobs and fill in when needed.
• Ability to operate and reset transfer cars and haulages.
• Ability to keep track of car positions.
• Ability to use hand tools to perform minor repairs and make adjustments.
• Ability to communicate with supervision about production, quality and safety issues.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
• Hardhat, safety glasses and steel toe shoes etc. required.
