Job summary

Pine Hall Brick Company Inc. seeks a dedicated burning department operator to manage dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage, and propane systems. You will oversee operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repairs, and quality checks, while producing shift and daily reports.

The role requires daily brick quality tests, safe work practices, and willingness to assist across the plant. Heavy lifting and hot work are part of the job with a 3/4 schedule (8pm–8am).

Responsibilities

• Operate the burning department including dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems and propane systems.
• Perform adjustments, preventive maintenance, repairs and quality checks.
• Prepare and submit shift and daily reports.
• Fill in for other department employees when needed.
• Assist with housekeeping and safety compliance.

Description

You will be responsible for the full operation of the burning department including (but not limited to) dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems. You will be responsible for operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and shift and daily reports.

Requirements

• Must work in a safe manner.
• Obey safety signs and warnings.
• Must monitor kilns and make adjustments as needed.
• Must be able to learn the full operation of the burning department and DLA.
• Make daily checks on equipment and repair or report to supervisor as needed.
• Must be able to learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars.
• Must be able to fill in for other department employees when needed.
• Must learn basic computer skills.
• Must be able to do the daily reports.
• Perform daily brick quality tests.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license.
• Knowledge and ability to use hand tools to adjust, repair, and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Must participate in dept. housekeeping and meet standards.

Educational, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes etc. required.
• Ability and willingness to help throughout the Plant where needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
• Must be able to climb ladders, steps and work in high places.
• Must be able to work in hot conditions.

Work Schedule

8pm-8am, this is a 3/4 schedule (2-2-3) must work every other weekend.
