Job summary

Pine Hall Brick Company Inc. is seeking a night-shift operator to run the burning department, including dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage and propane systems.

You will monitor equipment, adjust controls, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out daily shift reports and quality checks. Responsibilities include learning full operation of the burning department and DLA, performing daily brick quality tests, maintaining safety, and completing required paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems.

Description

You will be responsible for the full operation of the burning department including (but not limited to) dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems. You will be responsible for operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and shift and daily reports.

Requirements

• Must work in a safe manner.
• Obey safety signs and warnings.
• Must monitor kilns and make adjustments as needed.
• Must be able to learn the full operation of the burning department and DLA.
• Make daily checks on equipment and repair or report to supervisor as needed.
• Must be able to learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars.
• Must be able to fill in for other department employees when needed.
• Must learn basic computer skills.
• Must be able to do the daily reports.
• Perform daily brick quality tests.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license.
• Knowledge and ability to use hand tools to adjust, repair, and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Must participate in dept. housekeeping and meet standards.

Educational, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes etc. required.
• Ability and willingness to help throughout the Plant where needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
• Must be able to climb ladders, steps and work in high places.
• Must be able to work in hot conditions.

Work Schedule

8pm-8am, this is a 3/4 schedule (2-2-3) must work every other weekend.
