Job summary

UFP Industries in Arizona is seeking a Kiln Operator to load and unload material, tag products, and ensure proper paperwork and tagging. The role starts under supervision with clear directions.

You will operate the kiln and kiln computer, perform pre-shift checklists, maintain an organized yard, complete required paperwork, and participate in safety and CI programs. 18+ must apply; forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 6 months to 1 year of forklift or similar equipment experience.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers/software preferred.
• Must complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads kiln.

• Moves material and other products from storage to work areas and vice versa as required.
• Operates Kiln and Kiln Computer.
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes preshift startup equipment checklist and reports problems.

• Loads and unloads kiln
• Tag and retag products as required
• Moves material and other products from storage to work areas and vice versa as required.
• Operates Kiln and Kiln Computer
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes preshift startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains yard and ensures it is organized and clean.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers.
• Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education High school diploma GED preferred but not required
• Prefers 6 months to 1 year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred
• Working knowledge of computers/software preferred
• Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
• Must be at least 18 years of age
