Job summary

Old Colony YMCA Easton Branch is seeking a KidZone Staff member to provide safe, engaging supervision for children and to deliver friendly, courteous service to members. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and positive representation of the Y in all interactions.

You will follow branch policies, support monthly themes, maintain cleanliness, and help connect families with program opportunities while modeling YMCA leadership competencies and a spirit of service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of age.
• Must enjoy working with and building assets in children.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certifications-must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Physical ability to lift small children up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk and bend throughout the work day.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly courteous service to all members and clients of the Old Colony Y
• Contribute to a positive work environment by illustrating pride in the job, enthusiasm, and cooperation with co-workers
• Supervise children left in his/her care in a healthy, safe environment and ensure children are participating in fun and constructive activities
• Maintain appropriate behavior management of children at all times in accordance with the Old Colony Y Child Care Policy
• Keep accurate daily attendance records (be sure children and caregivers abide by sign-in and out policies)
• Adhere to proper opening and closing procedures.
• Work to actively build the FLY kids Ambassador program and act as a role model and mentor to FLY kids
• Work with fellow KidZone staff to actively supervise children from all angles, always actively discussing and minimizing potential blind spots, etc.
