Job summary

KidStrong in Gluckstadt, MS is seeking part-time coaches with athletic or coaching backgrounds to guide classes for children from walking age to 11 years old. You will focus on cognitive, physical and character development through evolving weekly curricula and discuss the rationale with parents.

Evenings and weekends are required; typical hours include 3:45pm-7:30pm on weekdays and weekend slots. This role offers 10-20 hours weekly with potential growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
• Prior experience coaching students within the KidStrong age range is preferred.
• Prior experience speaking to and educating parents on KidStrong curriculum.
• Knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Coach children on cognitive, physical and character development through weekly curriculum.
• Speak to parents/guardians about the why behind KidStrong curriculum.
• Lead classes on weekdays 9am-11am and 7pm or earlier and weekends.
• Support private parties and camps to increase hours.

WHAT IS KIDSTRONG?

KidStrong is a science-based kids training program that builds strong, confident, high-character kids. We do this in weekly, 45 minute developmentally-appropriate classes. Each class includes unique science-based fitness games led by highly trained, kid-focused coaches.

ROLE & SCHEDULE

We are looking for individuals with an athletic or coaching background who ideally have experience coaching kids ages walking - 11 years old. The KidStrong Coach would focus on coaching children on cognitive, physical and character development that stems from evolving weekly curriculum. The ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding “the why” behind KidStrong curriculum. Our classes run weekdays 9am-11am and evenings until 7pm. On weekends we start at 9AM and run through lunch time. Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party and camp coaching hours. Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required! This position is Part - Time. Most part - time coaches coach 10 - 20 hours a week, sometimes more depending on the time of year and class schedule.

Current Shift Openings

• Weekday evenings: 3:45pm-7:30pm
• Saturday: 8:45am-1:30pm, 3:30-5:30pm (as needed for parties), 5:30pm-7:30pm (as needed for parties)
• Sunday: 8:45am-1:15

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics
• CPR certified
• Positive, motivating and effective interpersonal communication skills

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
