Job summary

YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a part-time Child Watch Attendant for our Kids Zone. You’ll supervise children aged 12 weeks to 8 years while parents work out, take a class, or enjoy time at the Y, creating a safe, fun, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include greeting families, following sign-out procedures, leading activities, and maintaining health and safety practices. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are required within 30 days of employment, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Certifications in Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of employment (training provided).
• Ability to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.
• Able to reflect a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet each child and family as they arrive and leave.
• Follow sign-out procedures to ensure safe release of children.
• Care for children ages 12 weeks to 8 years in a safe, clean Kids Zone.
• Lead age-appropriate activities, arts and crafts.
• Maintain good health practices and clean play surfaces and toys.
• Keep records of children participating in the program.
• Know safety and emergency procedures and report unsafe conditions.
