Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Y Kids Associate to assist with developing and coordinating quality programs for children in the Y Kids Area. The role emphasizes safety, health standards, and excellent member service, including welcoming families and maintaining records.

The position supports staff children programming, works in a team, and participates in trainings to ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and prior experience with children.
• Ability to work with children of various ages and abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a flexible schedule.
• Capable of working as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate educational, age-appropriate activities for children in the Y Kids Area.
• Maintain health and safety standards of the Y Kids Area.
• Provide superior customer service to members and their children.
• Implement assigned programming for staff children.
• Maintain attendance, check-in and first aid records.
• Provide care and supervision of children with emphasis on safety and wellness.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the Y Kids Area.
• Greet children and parents as they enter and leave, and communicate with staff.
• Attend staff meetings and training events.
