Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Specialty Program Instructor to lead and document specialty class activities for enrolled children. Under the guidance of the Program Director, you will plan lessons, organize activities, and ensure a safe, engaging environment.

You will prepare for special program presentations, monitor safety, and maintain accurate attendance and records, while upholding all safety and cleanliness protocols throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience with specialty program offering.
• Experience working with children.
• Enthusiasm for the arts and children.
• Able to adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, plans, and executes activities for enrolled children.
• Prepare for special program presentations.
• Monitors safety and makes necessary changes.
• Fosters a positive environment and encourages participation.
• Models appropriate behavior and communicates with respect.
• Guides participants through program rules and maintains discipline as needed.
• Records daily attendance and maintains records.
• Ensures supplies are on hand and classroom is safe and neat.
• Attends staff meetings and adheres to cleaning protocols.
