Job summary

Michaels Stores in Clackamas, OR, is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate kids’ parties and craft classes inside the store, ensuring a fun, engaging guest experience. You will help customers shop, support BOPIS/SFS processes, and promote loyalty programs while maintaining store standards.

The role emphasizes event execution, client communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment with opportunities for growth and contributions to store events and promotions.

Qualifications

• Experience planning children's events is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple events and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects, participate in face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans as required.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
