Job summary

Michaels Stores in Cypress, TX is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate kids' birthday parties and in-store events, while delivering friendly customer service and a fast checkout experience.

You will engage guests of all ages, instruct craft activities, manage event add-ons, and support store operations, merchandising, and safety standards. Retail or customer service experience is required.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience required
• Experience with children and children's events preferred
• Excellent written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; creative problem-solving
• Ability to manage multiple events and adapt plans as needed

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events (kids birthday parties, craft classes) in-store
• Engage customers of all ages to create a fun, creative environment
• Demonstrate and guide participants in craft activities; perform face painting and related activities
• Facilitate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards
• Communicate events with clients and store team; answer emails and calls
• Assist with omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS) and store operations
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; support stock and planogram tasks
• Support daily store activities including setup, cleanup, and restocking
• Adhere to SOPs and company policies; promote the brand and customer satisfaction
