Job summary

KinderCare Education is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers, following menus prepared by our in-house nutritionist.

You will maintain kitchen safety and order supplies, document records, and support center goals around enrollment and engagement while collaborating with center staff and leadership.

This role requires a love for children, basic math for portions, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and clear English communication with children and families.

Qualifications

• Love for children and desire to make a difference daily.
• Understand food allergies and safe storage to prevent cross-contamination.
• Follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantities for the center population.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking; food ordering desirable.
• Two or more years working with children desirable.
• Must be able to use a computer and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medications as requested.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation according to regulations.
• Help with other daily center duties as needed.
• Support center goals around enrollment and engagement with leadership.
