Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers. You will follow menus developed by our in-house nutritionist to ensure kids have the fuel they need to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Love for children and a desire to make a difference every day.
• Familiarity with safe food handling and storage; understand needs of children with food allergies.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare meals in appropriate quantities.
• Basic math skills for measuring and serving portions.
• Possess a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking; food ordering experience is desirable.
• Two or more years working with children is desirable.
• Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency; able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete documentation according to KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Assist with other daily center duties as needed.
• Support center goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
