Job summary

Pueblo of Sandia is hiring a cook to prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks for the Early Childhood Development Center and staff. You will help with kitchen setup, ensure sanitary conditions, and assist in ordering supplies while following dietician guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of cook experience serving large groups. Must have NM driver’s license, complete NM Food Handlers course, and pass background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) months experience as a cook serving large groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Helps prepare meals and assists with facility set-up.
• Ensures sanitary conditions in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Cleans work areas during and after serving, including washing dishes, sweeping and mopping, and sanitizing counters.
• Assists in ordering raw food and supplies; works with CDC Coordinator to plan menus and shopping lists; follows health guidelines.
• Performs maintenance and general labor work.
• Designs and implements nutritional training opportunities for families and children; provide high quality, cost effective meals reflecting traditional community foods.
• Punctual and regular attendance is essential per Attendance Policy.
