The Greater Austin YMCA is seeking a Dance Instructor to lead classes for children aged 4-12 in a fun, inclusive setting. You will develop age-appropriate routines, deliver engaging lessons, and foster a love for dance while prioritizing safety and positive participation.

Ideal candidates will have strong dance knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a growth mindset, with the ability to work well with a team and communicate with parents about progress and showcases.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Experience with young learners in recreational/educational settings is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of dance styles; ability to teach and demonstrate moves.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach dance classes to children aged 4-12, improving skills, rhythm and coordination.
• Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Inspire students to advance dance skills and confidence; promote teamwork in class.
• Manage classroom behavior with sensitivity to maintain a respectful learning environment.
• Prepare students for performances or showcases and community events.
• Ensure safety via proper warm-ups and safety protocols.
• Maintain open communication with parents about class progress and achievements.
• Represent YMCA values in interactions and community relations.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team goals.
