Job summary

The Glen Ellyn Park District is seeking a Dance Instructor to teach Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, and Tap to children aged 2.5 years and up. You will manage classrooms, plan lessons, and choreograph routines with attention to safety and student growth.

Ideal candidates have dance experience across styles and previous work with children. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus and may be provided. Flexibility and energetic leadership are valued.

Qualifications

• Dance experience is required.
• Knowledge in multiple styles of dance is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children is required.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification is a plus but will be provided if needed.
• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of dance programs and classes (Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Tap) for ages 2.5+ years.
• Manage classroom and plan instruction including warmups, technique, and choreography.
• Maintain communication with participants and parents and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Follow safety practices and adapt to skill levels and ages.
