Location: Skokie, IL 60076

Position Type: Part Time

Salary Range: $20.00 - $26.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and instruct various forms of dance including hip hop, ballet, contemporary and/or jazz to children aged 5 to 18 years and some adult classes.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans that are age appropriate.
• Responsible for choreography, music selection and costume selection for the annual dance recital.
• Plan and implement dance parties and dance special events as requested.
• Follow District safety standards, closely supervise children, and provide a learning environment that is safe and fun for program participants.

Schedule

• Thursday classes are available between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM for summer, June 11 – July 30.
• Thursday classes are available between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM for fall beginning in September.

Qualifications

• Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Education or related field.
• Prefer at least one to three years of experience in youth dance instruction including ballet, tap, contemporary and/or jazz, and acro.
• Must possess excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.
