Job summary

YMCA of Central Texas in Round Rock is seeking an experienced Dance Instructor to teach recreational dance to children aged 2 to 14. The role requires knowledge of ballet, tap, jazz, POM and hip hop, and a minimum of 12 months teaching young dancers.

You will coach CHASCO YMCA dance classes, oversee attendance and schedules, help coordinate winter and spring recitals, communicate with families, and administer skills progression testing. Pay ranges from $14.00 to $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 12 months experience teaching young children ballet, tap, jazz and/or hip hop.
• Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, and possess a cooperative attitude.
• Have a general knowledge of fitness and wellness.
• Uphold the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith.
• Ability to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, sex-offender check, and criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Coach CHASCO YMCA dance classes.
• Oversee daily class routines, attendance and schedules.
• Coordinate and implement Winter and Spring dance recitals with the Dance Specialist.
• Provide coaching and leadership to all participants.
• Establish and maintain ongoing communication with families.
• Administer skills progression testing and monitoring.
