Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking Houston West is seeking a part-time Chef Instructor to teach hands-on classes for kids aged 3-18. On-campus sessions typically run 90 minutes, with 2-5 PM weekday slots.

No professional cooking experience required, but experience with children and a reliable vehicle are important. You'll lead engaging lessons, follow provided curricula, and get paid $55 for each 1-hour class plus 30 minutes for setup and cleanup; food reimbursement is included.

Qualifications

• Available to teach 1 hour classes (on campus approx. 90 mins) at least 3 days a week between 2-5 PM, Mondays- Fridays.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8-14 kids.
• Must arrive on campus 15-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Varies per school.
• Able to commit to teaching sessions that run 4-12 weeks.
• Have or willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation.
• Must pass state and FBI background checks as a condition of employment.
• No professional cooking experience required
• Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on cooking classes for kids, teaching chopping, mixing, measuring, and creating healthy recipes.
• Spark creativity by introducing new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures.
• Stay organized by preparing with provided curricula, shopping for ingredients, and setting up a safe space.
• Be the face of fun, inspiring kids to gain confidence in the kitchen.
