Job summary

The Red Bank YMCA is hiring a Kids Club Lead Associate to supervise the Kids Club program and deliver quality childcare for members’ children in Red Bank, NJ. Under the supervision of the Youth and Family Program Coordinator, this role leads daily activities, ensures safety, and interacts with children and guardians to provide a supportive, enriching environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School education or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Child Care facility or as a babysitter.
• Broad understanding of childcare policies.
• Ability to engage in daily routines of the program’s children, including reading.
• Must possess oral and written communication skills for interactions with adults and children.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to delegate appropriate responsibilities to staff.
• First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire date.
• YMCA Jersey Shore New Team Member Orientation.
• YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Online Training.

Responsibilities

• Be on time and adhere to the branch and department dress code.
• Demonstrate YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
• Provide exceptional care for children during daily operation of the Kids Club.
• Interact with children during activities.
• Help implement scheduled activities to meet children's needs physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Kids Club room and equipment.
• Exercise sound judgment regarding member safety and injuries; follow emergency procedures.
• Oversee activities in Kids Club in absence of Youth & Family Program Coordinator.
• Report safety concerns in writing to supervisor and director.
