This is a flexible side-hustle with afternoon sessions in local schools, a chance to travel between sites, and opportunities for advancement. We offer competitive pay per class, mileage reimbursement for long trips, and full training with ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching groups of children.
• Ability to lead a class independently.
• Positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals.
• Able to connect chess to real-life problem solving.
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Weekday afternoon availability (2:00–5:00 PM) for 1–5 classes/week.
• Commitment to school safety policies and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum.
• Create a lively, positive classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Supervise arrivals and dismissals; follow school safety protocols.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive prepared and ready to engage students.
