Job summary

Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, CA is seeking a part-time Kids Care assistant to support caregivers and ministires. You will attend to children's needs, help with activities, and ensure safety during events held mornings, afternoons, or evenings as scheduled.

Responsibilities include supervising play, leading Bible story activities, and assisting with crafts while maintaining a faith-based, loving environment. CPR and background checks will be required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must love working with children and have flexible availability.
• Excellent communication with parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Patient and understanding with children and parents.
• Knowledge of childcare principles and procedures.
• Able to relate to children and maintain a faith-based atmosphere.
• Must be a Shadow Mountain Church member or willing to become one; attend weekly services.
• Bilingual a plus.

• Oversees games, recreational activities, and snacks for children in a group setting.

• Performs other related duties as assigned

The goal of Kids Care is to provide quality care for our kids through a cooperative partnership between ministries, parents, and staff. We serve our kids with the love of Jesus Christ. We provide Kids Care for the ministries on the Shadow Mountain Main Campus as well as our Venue Campuses. Our events are 7 days a week in the morning, afternoon and evenings when requested by our various ministries. Flexible hours are available depending on your schedule and events available. Bilingual a plus. If you love to teach or are artistic, there are many opportunities for you to use those skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents and volunteers.


• Have an extensive knowledge of childcare principles and procedures.


• Ability to relate to children and make Kids Care a safe, enjoyable, and faith-based atmosphere.


• Must be a member, or be willing to become a member, of Shadow Mountain Community Church, and must attend weekly services.


• Bilingual a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and frequent bending.


• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.


• At least one year of related childcare experience preferred.


• CPR and Mandated Reporter Certifications will be required within 30 days of being hired.


• Must pass Live Scan Fingerprint check.
