Job summary

Kidcreate Studio-Wixom, MI is seeking a part-time art instructor to inspire young artists and teach them structured techniques through the Kidcreate Academy curriculum.

You will guide students in drawing, painting, color theory, and composition while fostering creativity and confidence in a supportive setting.

Flexible afternoons, evenings, weekends, and school breaks are available, with paid prep time and classroom setup included.

Qualifications

• You have strong foundational art skills and enjoy teaching those skills to children.
• Understanding of drawing, line, shape, form, shading, painting techniques, color theory, and composition.
• Can demonstrate techniques clearly and confidently.
• Able to break artistic concepts into age-appropriate lessons.
• Provides encouraging, constructive feedback to help students grow.
• Has classroom management experience and can lead groups of children.

Responsibilities

• Teach structured, step-by-step lessons using the Kidcreate Academy curriculum.
• Demonstrate drawing, painting, color theory, composition, and other foundational art techniques.
• Help students build artistic skills progressively while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
• Break complex concepts into simple, teachable steps that children can understand and apply.
• Provide positive, constructive feedback that helps students improve while building confidence.
• Foster a welcoming classroom environment where every student feels encouraged to learn and grow.
• Manage classroom behavior while maintaining a fun, engaging learning experience.
• Prepare materials, set up the classroom, and clean up after each class.
• Communicate professionally with parents, students, and fellow team members.
• Represent Kidcreate Academy and Kidcreate Studio with professionalism, enthusiasm, and positivity.
