Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Kid Zone Program Specialist to supervise and engage children aged 2 months to 10 years and assist families in a safe, fun environment. The schedule runs Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, with part-time hours (up to 25 hours per week).

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and active participation in character development (Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility).

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Six months to one year childcare or customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Ability and desire to work with children of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Supervises play and group activities of Kid Zone participants.

Compensation

$14.35 - $17.93 ; part time; non exempt (up to 25hrs/week)

KNOW HOW

CERTIFICATIONS

• Blood Borne Pathogen training
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required within the first 60 days
• First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
• AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
• State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
