Job summary

YMCA of Downtown Manchester is seeking a Kid Zone Attendant to provide safe, engaging short-term care for children up to two hours per visit. You will support families while parents use the facility, in a warm, nurturing setting.

With flexible scheduling and paid training, this role offers growth opportunities within the YMCA. Candidates should be able to supervise children, create age-appropriate activities, and model YMCA values.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred.
• Ability to engage and supervise children of varying ages in a group setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, positive, and energetic approach to working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide a physically and emotionally safe environment for all children in the Kid Zone.
• Create fun, developmentally appropriate activities for a variety of ages.
• Build positive relationships with children; actively engage and supervise at all times.
• Model and promote YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in your care.
• Monitor parent/guardian sign-in and sign-out; enforce time limits for program use.
• Build and maintain effective, positive relationships with parents/guardians.
• Complete required tracking and attendance documentation.
• Participate in a culture of open feedback and continuous improvement.
