YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Kid Zone Program Specialist to supervise activities for children ages 2 months to 10 years and support their families. The role focuses on safety, engagement, and positive behavior within a welcoming YMCA setting.
Schedule typically runs Monday–Friday mornings with at least one Saturday per month, with additional hours possible. Benefits include membership, retirement plan, and professional development opportunities.
The Kid Zone Program Specialist is responsible for the children in the Kid Zone to ensure a safe, fun area for children 2 months through 10 years old and their families to interact and enjoy.
This position is primarily scheduled Monday-Friday from 8:15 AM-11:15 AM. Staff are also required to work at least one Saturday shift per month. Kid Zone hours are Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM-7:00 PM, and Saturdays, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM, with opportunities for additional hours as needed.
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association
$14.35 - $17.93 ; Part Time, Non-Exempt (up to 25 hours/week)
Must be 15 years of age or older. Six months to one year childcare or customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles. Ability and desire to work with children of all ages.
