Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Erie is seeking a Kid Zone Attendant at our Glenwood YMCA location to provide safe, engaging care for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years. Duties include supervising play, maintaining a clean Kid Zone, and following emergency procedures while supporting families’ fitness goals.

Qualifications include being at least 18, a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR Pro and First Aid certifications, and the ability to pass background checks and a physical.

Job description

The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Kid Zone Attendant for our Glenwood YMCA location.

This position pays $10.00-$12.48/hour depending on experience.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KID ZONE ATTENDANT

As a Kid Zone Attendant at one of our locations, you help our members meet their fitness goals by providing a safe, secure and positive environment for their children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old. Kid Zone is a service for YMCA family members providing drop-in care for their children with trained staff while they enjoy an onsite workout or class.

You are friendly and patient as you ensure the safety of all children. Always alert, you provide proper supervision for the children as you "see, hear, direct, and assess." Parents feel good about leaving their children in your loving and capable hands.

With enthusiasm, you help keep the kid zone area clean and in order. You are also conscientious about the YMCA emergency procedures and find ways to have fun with the children while they are in your care.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A KID ZONE ATTENDANT

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic skills working with children
• Current certification in CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders) and First Aid (for the community and workplace).
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass a physical
• Love for children

WORK SCHEDULE

This typical schedule for this position is up to 19 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are available Monday through Friday and weekends.
