Job summary

The Bay Club Company in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Kid Zone Assistant Teacher with strong educational skills and background in classroom teaching or group tutoring to support the Lead Teacher in delivering high quality youth programs for our members.

You will help maintain a positive, professional atmosphere and apply developmentally appropriate practices, contributing to our Code of Culture and member experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous childcare experience preferred.
  • Infant/Child/Adult CPR Certification required (Red Cross or American Heart Association).
  • TB test results (within 12 months prior to hire).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure safety of children in KIDS ZONE.
  • Engage in warm, caring interactions and imaginative play with children.
  • Implement positive guidance techniques and maintain classroom control.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment.
  • Check in children and rotate positions within KIDS ZONE.
  • Contact parents via phone per policy.

Primary Job Functions
  • Supervise and ensure safety of children in KIDS ZONE.

  • Communicate timely and follow up, as appropriate
  • Provide membership sales team with guest/prospect lead contact information
  • Active participation in required events, required programs, required meetings and required trainings
Other Job Functions
  • Flexibility in work schedule, as job may require day and evening shifts, weekends and holidays

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Previous childcare experience preferred.
  • Infant/Child/Adult CPR Certification required (From either Red Cross or American Heart Association).

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
  • It is sometimes necessary to deal with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally sit for extended periods and regularly walk around the facility.
  • Must occasionally talk and hear.
  • Must frequently move 10 pounds, and in the event of an emergency lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required, but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
